Finding Joy the Bible Way
Jesus said He came to give us life abundantly (John 10:10). God has a plan in mind for you - a life He wants us to live. Yet so often we settle for less. Sorrow, misery, crushed dreams, broken relationships, guilt and shame have plagued us all because of our choice to sin. We find ourselves in rut, facing a series of wrong choices, all which takes us down a path of life that God never intended for people to live. God made us to live an "abundant life" in Christ. Forgiven. Hopeful. Purposeful. Connected. Making a difference in the lives of others. A life of true joy.
"The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly. (John 10:10)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love 5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, 8 which He lavished upon us. In all wisdom and insight 9 He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him 10 with a view to an administration suitable to the fulness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth. In Him 11 also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, 12 to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. 13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-- having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory. (Eph. 1:3-14)
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! (Phil. 4:4)
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed. (1Ti 6:18-19)
This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psa 118:24)
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives, And freedom to prisoners; (Isa 61:1 NAS)
